Responsibilities:  

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Demonstrated I&E technical leadership and support for the I&E, maintenance and operational departments.
  • Establish/share instrumentation and electrical best practices and assist in driving the I&E department towards continuing improvement and greater reliability.
  • Represent Ashtabula on global technology teams. Review and manage the implementation of I&E related Requests For Change (RFCs).
  • Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance plans for I&E equipment.
  • Develop and modify repair specifications for inhouse and outside repairs. Also, must audit outside repair facilities to ensure effective repair is taking place.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface, relate complex concepts and provide the technical support between I&E and process engineering (i.e. PHA), reliability (i.e. RCA, reliability teams), capital projects (i.e. project teams) and all levels of individuals and groups in the organization.
  • Manage departmental documentation as it relates to PSM, ISO, SCE/SCV, Volumetric Control, Electrical Safety Audits, etc.
  • Provide maintenance department weekend duty and off hours coverage.
  • Create, update and review departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support ongoing organizational development needs by sharing knowledge and mentoring others, by helping develop and deliver technical training and by supporting auditing efforts within and outside of the specific work group.
  • Attend regular daily or weekly scheduling meetings to ensure craft and operations coordination for optimum efficiency.
  • Travel may be required, both domestic and international.

     
Skills Required:  

Level & Type of Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: 10 years industrial Instrumentation and Electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial power systems, control systems and instrumentation systems.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving skills and have experience in working in a team environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to recognize, investigate and systematically solve problems.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain cooperative relationships, possess strong organizational skills, be able to multi task and be adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in information technology including the Microsoft Office Suite and SAP applications.
