JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia and HUNT VALLEY, MD, USA (Monday, June 30, 2008) – Cristal Global (Cristal) announced today additional price increases on the sale of all of its titanium dioxide (TiO2) products sold in North America (United States and Canada).
Effective July 1, 2008, or as permitted by contract, prices for all rutile and anatase Tiona® and Cristal titanium dioxide (TiO2) products sold to all end-use markets in North America will increase by US $0.06 per pound. This is in addition to the price increases and paper markets product surcharges previously announced on June 4 and June 12, respectively.
These increases are required to partially offset the unprecedented increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs which have severely impacted the profitability of our TiO2 business.
This new increase is in addition to previously announced price increases and surcharges which are being implemented effective in July.
