JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia and HUNT VALLEY, MD, USA (Tuesday, July 8, 2008) – Cristal Global (Cristal) announced today that it will increase prices on all of its Ultrafine and Specialty titanium dioxide (TiO2) products sold in all markets by 12% per metric ton effective on August 1, 2008, or as contracts allow.
This price increase is urgently required to partially offset the unprecedented increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs. One of the most significant escalating costs is sulfur, a key raw material for the manufacturing of both Ultrafine and Specialty TiO2, which has recently risen to a level severely impacting the profitability of our business.
